AT SCHOOL CHOICE ARIZONA...

 
 

we exist to give parents educational choice. Through the tax credit program, we seek to make Private Education affordable for families of all kinds. By Arizona law, scholarships can only be awarded to children in grades K-12, attending qualified Arizona private schools. Learn about our scholarship opportunities below.

 

Applications for the new school year become available for all scholarship types on March 1st.

 

 SCHOLARSHIP TYPES

LOW-INCOME CORPORATE

To qualify for a Low-Income Corporate Scholarship, a student must meet two criteria:

A. THEY FALL UNDER ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

 
 

SWITCHERS

-Students who have switched from an Arizona public or charter school after having attended the public school for at least 90 days (or one full semester) in the prior school year. Those students who transfer from an Arizona public or charter school after having attended the public school for the first full semester are eligible to receive a scholarship that same academic year.

-Students who were homeschooled immediately prior to enrolling in a private school.

-Student who moved to Arizona from out of state immediately prior to enrolling in a private school.

-Student who participated in the ESA program and did not renew or accept the scholarship in order to accept STO scholarships.

KINDERGARTENER

All Kindergarten students entering into an Arizona private school qualify. Pre-K students with a disability qualify who have an IEP or MET Plan, and attends a private school that provides services for their disability.

MILITARY

Students who are the dependents of a member of the U.S. Armed Forces, stationed in Arizona pursuant to military orders.

PREVIOUS SCHOLARSHIP

Students who have previously received a scholarship (in a prior year) from any of the following tax credit scholarship programs (Low-Income Corporate, Original, and/or Overflow) and have continued in private school since receiving the award.

 
 
 

B. THEIR HOUSEHOLD MUST BE CONSIDERED LOW INCOME.

A family is considered low income if its total household income is 185% or less of the income level set by the USDA’s Federal Reduced Lunch Guidelines.

If your household income is less than the listed amount (in red) for your household size, your student should meet this criteria.

 
 

DISABLED / DISPLACED

To qualify for a Disabled/Displaced Corporate Scholarship, a student must meet one of the following criteria:

 
 

A. DISABLED

Students who are identified as having a disability under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, or by a school district, must provide a copy of either an IEP, 504 plan, or MET issued by an Arizona public school. This document does not have to be current in order to qualify.

 

B. DISPLACED

Students who are (or have been) placed in the Arizona foster care system at any time before the student graduates high school.

For students who qualify under this provision, a Displaced Verification Form should be completed after submitting an application.

 
 

ORIGINAL

All children attending a qualifying Arizona private school qualify for this scholarship! Family income is considered, but not a limiting factor of this scholarship. Please see our Partner School list to see if your school works with us.

 
 

OVERFLOW

Students who qualify for an Original Scholarship may also qualify for an Overflow (sometimes referred to as Switcher) Scholarship if they meet one of the following criteria:
